Resolving Issues with Challenging Volunteers

Who is course aimed at:

Volunteers Coordinators staff or volunteers who are responsible for the management or supervision of volunteers

Skills and knowledge:

1) Ways to resolve issues with challenging volunteers – includes both informal and formal process

2) Techniques to help with one to one meetings with volunteers

3) Learn about different stages of disciplinary process for volunteers, including verbal, written warnings and gross misconduct

4) Preventative measures to help reduce possible issues with volunteers in future

There will be an opportunity for networking with an hours breaks built in to allow for networking opportunities as well as group work. Lunch will be provided so advise us of any special dietary needs at time of booking.

 

Training Costs:

£20 VAEF Full Members

£40 non-member community groups, charities and social enterprises.

 

Trainer:

Nigel Barber – Volunteer Service Manager, One Westminster – Nigel is currently a Senior Manager at One Westminster managing the Volunteer Centre.  He has worked and also volunteered in the sector for over 20 years, including being volunteer coordinator at Epping Forest Volunteer Bureau May 1998 to July 2000. His volunteering includes being a trustee for 10 years of Action In Mental Health in Epping Forest District and is currently an Independent Custody Visitor in Westminster.
