What do we do?

Image of volunteer helping elderly ladyEpping Forest Community Transport (EFCT) was set up in 2001 to meet the special transport needs of Epping Forest District residents. Volunteer's private cars and EFCT minibuses are used to transport EFCT members on pre-booked journeys. The service is supported by Essex County Council, Epping Forest District Council, The Countryside Agency, the Rural Bus Challenge Fund, Parish Transport Grant and Epping Forest District Council.

How can you join as an organisation?

First, your organisation should register with VAEF. A form for this is available here. The subscription fee depends on which of our services you wish to benefit from. VAEF membership does not mean automatic registration with EFCT. This is because not all members require the service.

To additionally register your need for transport, please complete an EFCT membership form which can be obtained by contacting us.

How can you book?

Phone our booking line on 01992 564040 9.30am-12.30pm Monday-Friday. Please give at least 3 days notice of your journey and try to be as flexible as possible with your travel plans. We'll do our best to meet your needs, but this won't always be possible as we have limited resources. We aim to help as many people as we can so it may be necessary for you to share your journey with another passenger.

What if you cancel your booking?

Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel your trip - at least 24 hours if possible. If you phone on the day of the journey and we're unable to contact the driver, you'll still need to pay for the mileage from the driver's house to the pick-up point.
